The African Federation

THE PAN-AFRICAN ORGANISATION AFRICA HAS BEEN WAITING FOR

As Africans, we need little reminding of the infinite potential of our continent and our people, of the richness of our history and culture, of the vast abundance and beauty of our natural resources, or of the threats allied against us.

What we lack as Africa is a continent-wide system of civil leadership that creates, plans, projects and protects the unity of our people. One that amplifies and reconciles our authentic voice to ensure that we are heard.

Africa needs a catalytic system for change - an organization that will:

  • demand respect on the world stage
  • hold political leaders to account
  • harness the potential of our continent
  • unite, empower and benefit all Africans
  • deliver measurable and sustainable progress
  • restore pride and confidence in our destiny

OUR PURPOSE therefore, is to faithfully, transparently and systematically amplify and reconcile the voice and story of all that is African, with special emphasis on youth.

To this end and in our words and actions, we PROMISE:

  • to be objective, respectful, fair, honest, transparent, accountable, inclusive and tolerant
  • to be responsible for our destiny and proud of our heritage
  • to promote diversity, collaboration, bridge building, youth and economic empowerment, freedom of movement, enterprise, sound governance and a unity driven learning culture
  • to nurture, develop and protect our human and natural abundance, and
  • that by 2050, Africa will be a very different kind of superpower

Our pre-Launch phase started in November 2022 and is expected to extend to 2024.  In that time, we expect to:

Launch The African Federation and establish a number of Chapters in African countries

Run a programme of events and communication to create awareness of TAF and our Mission

Begin to attract members, build our teams and develop relationships with partners

Plan & resource prioritised operations to begin after our inaugural Assembly

At Launch, TAF will exist as a politically non-aligned, non-profit foundation, domiciled in Africa and structured as a single global entity with central resources and chapters, operating primarily through 5 core focus areas.

TAF will be funded by pan-Africans, through member subscriptions, sponsorship and commercial activities where relevant. We adhere to exceptional standards of transparency in regular, public reporting on activities and impact, operational and financial performance, sources and uses of funds and governance.

TAF will be overseen by a board and managed by an executive committee that is responsible for strategy development and execution, management of the organisation, delivery of our Vision and Mission, and, together with our chapter leaders in each country, for holding the political leaders of Africa to account.
