Illegal Mining Impacts on Agri-Food Systems and Public Health in Africa
When illegal mining compromises our soil, it does not just degrade the landscape - it directly dismantles our agri-food systems and poses a catastrophic threat to public health. The destruction of arable land and the contamination of vital water sources create a toxic ripple effect that endangers food security and human life across the continent.

The African Federation’s Ghana Chapter, in coordination with the Central Wellness Focus Unit, is hosting an uncompromising panel discussion to analyze the true cost of these extractive practices. This session will move past standard environmental grievances to focus on the strategic, architectural defenses and systemic solutions required to protect our ecosystems and preserve public health.

Join our leadership panel as we outline the institutional frameworks and collective actions needed to secure Africa’s environmental and physical sovereignty.
