TAF Focus Units

The African Federation is organised around 5 core focus areas that will operate as coordinated Focus Units but otherwise be autonomous. Each Focus Unit will have its own leadership that is responsible for unit-level objectives, activities and impact which are integrated and aligned with those of TAF at a global level.

By creating an integrated, working plaftform across Africa, TAF Focus Units will, in and of themselves, be catalysts for change and engines for unification.

Working throughout and on behalf of the entire Continent, TAF Focus Units will promote dialogue, develop information and intelligence and publish policy options; plan and advocate for change and implementable solutions on a prioritised basis; and publish measures of impact.

In addition to developing thought leadership, the broad scope of pan-African advocacy within each Focus Unit will include:

ECONOMY: Our systems of production and consumption for efficient public and private markets for goods and services; with emphasis on innovation, integration and the supply of money.

ENVIRONMENT: Our abundant natural world as affected by human activity; with an emphasis on protection and equitable exploitation of indigenous natural resources, for productive sustainability.

GOVERNANCE: Our systems of control and accountability within and between government, the economy and civil society, including the law; with emphasis on convergence and sovereignty, for the delivery of effective leadership and peace.

NARRATIVE: Our history, culture and potential; with an emphasis on Africans amplifying our story and purposeful communication, for a stronger pan-African mentality and therefore clearer identity and objectives.

WELLNESS: Our systems of healthcare and education; with an emphasis on proactive multi-dimensional approaches and the provision of basic services, for informed choices and flourishing lifestyles.
