On July 20th, The African Federation (TAF) will proudly announce the soft launch of its second Focus Unity, TAF Environment, during a momentous event to introduce the unit’s objectives, strategies, and leadership. The TAF Environment Focus Unit aims to promote sustainable and authentic African systems of environment and the full restoration of sovereignty for future generations.
The event, hosted by the leadership team of the new Focus Unit, will provide a platform for the leadership team of TAF Environment to present their vision, mission, and strategy. The CEO of TAF Environment, Teresa Muliro, will outline the unit’s focus on developing policies for flourishing environments for prosperity. Our broad scope of Pan-African advocacy is:
our abundant natural world, as affected by human activity, with an emphasis on the protection and equitable exploitation of indigenous natural resources for productive sustainability.
Introducing TAF Environment to the world: We aim to raise awareness about our organization’s core mission, which is to empower communities, drive sustainable development, and champion the principles of a just transition. The event lays the foundation for TAF Environment to forge meaningful partnerships, engage diverse voices, and position itself as a leading advocate for environmentally and socially conscious initiatives across the African continent.
Capacity Building: The event will demonstrate our unwavering commitment to capacity building within the communities we serve. The exposure, knowledge, and skills within the leadership team will underscore the immense potential of TAF Environment to empower individuals and equip them with the knowledge and tools necessary to drive sustainable change from the grassroots level.
Engagement and Partnerships: TAF Environment will also aim to foster a groundswell of engagement and partnership opportunities. The unit’s inclusive approach to addressing environmental challenges will resonate with a diverse array of organizations, from community-based groups to multinational enterprises. Building upon these initial connections, TAF Environment will be poised to forge strategic alliances that amplify its impact and accelerate the transition towards a more sustainable future.
Environmental Advocacy: The event will firmly establish the Unit’s role as a prominent voice in the environmental advocacy landscape. By sharing its vision for a just transition and showcasing innovative approaches to tackling pressing ecological issues, TAF Environment will garner widespread attention and acclaim from policymakers, civil society organizations, and the people of Africa who share our vision and goals.
During the event Peter Eyamu, Global Head of Chapters for the African Federation, will outline the organisation’s vision to achieve the full restoration of a vibrant, united, and prosperous Africa by 2050. He will emphasise the strategic approach to establishing Focus Units and Country Chapter, with a commitment to developing solutions and partnerships.
The upcoming Soft Launch is expected to mark a historic moment in TAF’s journey towards a united and empowered Africa. The Focus Unit is poised to make a lasting impact by fostering unity, engagement and empowerment through purposeful communication and media engagement. For further information, please contact: TAF Central Communications, support@theafricanfederation.org
