January 20th, The African Federation (TAF) will proudly announce the soft launch of its first Focus Unit, TAF Narrative, during a momentous event to introduce the unit's objectives, strategies, and leadership. The TAF Narrative Focus Unit aims to redefine the African narrative by amplifying stories that celebrate the continent's diverse cultures, history, and aspirations.
The event, to be hosted by the leadership team of the new focus unit will provide a platform for the leadership team of TAF Narrative to present their vision, mission, and strategy. The CEO of TAF Narrative, Benjamin Musanjufu, will outline the unit's focus on reshaping the narrative through a comprehensive strategy that includes educational initiatives, media engagement, and partnerships.
Anticipated Highlights from the Event:
Bridge Building: TAF Narrative will aim to create unity within TAF and across Africa by expanding collaborative activities and advocating for principles and policy positions.
Teaching Our Children: The focus on integrating local cultures and histories into curricula, emphasizing indigenous languages, critical thinking, and environmental consciousness to shape a positive and dynamic narrative.
Mentality Change: TAF Narrative will focus on reversing negative mindsets, promoting African identity, and countering issues designed to contain the continent.
Heritage Unveiled: Rediscovering Africa's diversity and strength by promoting African identity, including languages, history, origins, arts, and culture.
Breaking the Chains of Oppression: TAF Narrative will emphasize awareness of issues that contain Africa and developing mechanisms to counter them.
Expanding Own Media: TAF Narrative plans to take control of the African narrative by supporting local talent, investing in media infrastructure, and engaging communities to ensure authentic African narratives shape global perceptions.
The event will also highlight the creation of a podcast as a key vehicle for sharing narratives. The TAF Narrative podcast is envisioned to be a storytelling powerhouse, amplifying diverse voices and celebrating Africa's rich cultural heritage.
Elisabeth Valerio, CEO of The African Federation, will outline the organization's vision to achieve the full restoration of a vibrant, united, and prosperous Africa by 2050. She will emphasize the strategic approach to establishing Focus Units and Country Chapters, with a commitment to developing solutions and partnerships.
