TAF Environment | Breaking The Cycle
2pm GMT | 3pm WAT | 4pm CAT | 5pm EAT

This event will take a deep dive into the mindset shifts needed to secure Africa’s environmental sovereignty, sustainability and equitable resource management. Join us as we tackle the question: What must change in our thinking to reclaim our environment and shape our own future? Be part of the conversation here.

TAF Environment Breaking the Cycle

Our theme for the month of March is
The African mindset and neocolonial control

This week, we examine how neocolonial influence continues to shape governance and leadership in Africa. Despite independence, many political structures still prioritise external interests over self-determination, limiting true sovereignty. We will also see how Africa’s economic structures reinforce dependency, keeping the continent tethered to exploitative trade relationships and foreign-controlled policies.

The African mindset and neocolonial control

This month's Policy Paper will look into how the African mindset has been shaped by neocolonial control and why true sovereignty begins with a mindset shift. Breaking free requires more than policy reforms - it demands a fundamental shift in perception, rejecting narratives that undermine African agency and potential. Join us as we unpack the psychological barriers sustaining neocolonial influence and the strategies needed to build a self-reliant, empowered Africa.

Our Principles - Govern Locally with Eyes on Africa

We believe the people of Africa should have the right to live in accordance with our own customs and culture, choosing our own leaders. As such, ours will be an unrestrictive Federation in which the people choose leaders of their own to oversee local governance based on the wishes of local people. The African Federation therefore will have no jurisdiction over any one local administration or its resources, but equally represents and protects the interests of all African realms, regardless of size. When we bring together all African forces and resources as one, Africa is powerful, independent and free.
