"TAF Ubuntu Celebrations"
TAF Environment talks about Ubuntu

This November, The African Federation celebrates Ubuntu, the spirit that reminds us “I am because we are.” Africa’s journey to becoming a superpower by 2050 depends on our shared strength, connection, and commitment to one another. Join us in honouring this powerful vision as we look toward the future together. Watch the video here.

Our theme for the month of November is
Ubuntu as a framework for African systems

Across Africa, Ubuntu still exists in fragments, but rarely in the systems that hold the most power. It can still be seen in how we relate to one another, but not always in how institutions operate. Communities continue to show solidarity when disaster strikes, unlike public policies and leadership decisions which have mostly failed to reflect that same compassion. Ubuntu’s continued presence within communities shows that it was never truly lost, but simply left out of how formal systems were built. The question now is how much of it remains and how much we are willing to restore.

Ubuntu as a framework for African systems

This month’s Policy Paper explores how Ubuntu can serve as a practical framework for rebuilding African systems. It will look at how this philosophy can guide principles across seven vital domains: governance, economies, leadership, wellness, environment, justice and education. Africa already has this moral foundation, so there is no need to invent a new one. The challenge now is to make Ubuntu practical again. Join us as we unpack how Ubuntu can move from being a philosophy in spirit to becoming a guiding model for Africa’s renewal.

How TAF is Organised - Charter

Our charter sets out our pan-African spirit, principles and objectives in the service of Africa and Africans. Amongst other things, it also sets out the structure, election process, responsibilities and requirements of our Assembly to ensure that the voices of African people are at the heart of the governance and strategy overseen by our Cabinet.
