TAF 2025 recap

Across its units, the organisation focused on building core structures, strengthening governance, expanding participation and laying the groundwork for future partnerships. Key efforts centred on communications, chapter development, focus units and internal systems, with an emphasis on operational readiness and alignment with Ubuntu values.

As TAF moves into the next year, we do so confident in our foundations and ready to deepen our impact across the continent, guided by Ubuntu as a practical framework for action.

How TAF is Organised - Focus Units

Our 6 Focus Units (Economy, Environment, FutureTech, Governance, Wellness and Narrative) will develop thought leadership positions within their scopes. Operating at TAF and Chapter levels, these units will be coordinated but otherwise autonomous. Their leadership will be responsible for unit-level objectives, activities & impact which are integrated & aligned with those of TAF at a global level.

Ottoo Marvin

Meet Ottoo Marvin, a passionate medical student from Uganda and the Communications Officer at TAF Wellness. Ottoo is using his voice to champion community health, wellness and youth empowerment across Africa.

Want to volunteer with TAF?
TAF Focus Units continue to seek volunteers for their Heads of Research, Engagement, Communication and Support Units. Visit the Volunteer page on the TAF website for details and to apply.

Head of Research & Policy: Responsible for research-driven implementable-policy development, policy prioritisation, research integrity & quality, inter-Focus Unit research & policy coordination and thought leadership. Requires relevant policy-sector experience.

Head of Engagement: Responsible for impactful delivery of external engagement with & through policy development & implementation stakeholders (including members & partners and TAF commercial business models), inter-Focus Unit engagement coordination and thought leadership. Requires relevant, but not specific policy-sector, experience.

Head of Communications: Responsible for internal & external communications (incl. brand, strategy & execution) for the Focus Unit and intra-TAF coordination. Requires relevant, but not specific policy-sector, experience.

Head of Support Unit: Responsible for strategic & operational finance, governance & controls, legal and HR. Requires relevant, but not specific policy-sector, experience.

Deputy CEO: Responsible for coordination & prioritisation of leadership team & unit activities. Requires organisation or large team management experience.
