Upcoming Zoom Panel Hosted by The African Federation – Cameroon Chapter

The African Federation (TAF) Cameroon Chapter will host a compelling virtual panel to examine how colonial legacies and modern imperial structures continue to influence Cameroon’s economic and political systems. This conversation will form part of TAF’s wider continental engagements aimed at deconstructing neocolonial frameworks and advocating for African-led development.

Moderated by Ntsama Rita, TAF Cameroon’s Head of Communication, the event will feature Anoubissi Jean de Dieu (Chapter Head) and Tanga Mireille (Head of Support Units), who will unpack the systemic challenges that undermine sovereignty in Cameroon—from monetary dependency and resource extraction to colonial education models and gendered inequalities.

The panel will explore questions such as:
- How has the CFA Franc and continued French influence affected economic sovereignty?
- In what ways do local elites perpetuate external control?
- How can indigenous knowledge systems and women-led grassroots efforts become tools of resistance?
- Participants will engage in a dynamic Q&A, and the speakers will offer bold, solution-oriented strategies—including decolonized education, regional economic coordination, and gender-just development models.

This session will also highlight community-based alternatives and encourage young people and the diaspora to take part in reshaping Africa’s future.

Stay tuned for the official date and registration details.
This panel will be part of TAF’s commitment to building an Africa free from dependency, where development is anchored in history, dignity, and people-centered values.
