The African Federation is proud to open Ubuntu Month 2025 with a powerful dialogue focused on transforming Ubuntu from a cultural philosophy into a functional system for African governance, leadership, and community life.
This engagement explores what it truly means to institutionalise Ubuntu, not only within TAF’s own structures, but across African organisations seeking people-centered, values-driven transformation.
Led by Frank Ronald (TAF Governance), Teresa Muliro (Global Head of Focus Units), Ottoo Marvin (Head of Communications, TAF Wellness), and Lusalalira Allan (TAF Wellness CEO), the session will address three core questions:
1. How do we embed Ubuntu into systems, not just language?
We examine what an “Ubuntu-based organisation” looks like in practice, focusing on leadership, accountability, collective care and inclusive decision-making, drawing from traditional and modern African governance models.
2. How can Ubuntu redefine African governance and economic systems?
We explore what Ubuntu-inspired public institutions and economies could look like: cooperative structures, ethical leadership, community-driven governance and people-first development.
3. What lessons can shape the Ubuntu Blueprint 2050?
Using insights from African history and contemporary innovations, this segment links Ubuntu values to long-term systems building across TAF, partners and chapters.
The discussion will close with an open floor for contributions, inviting participants to co-create the ideas that will guide the Ubuntu Blueprint 2050 - a long-term vision for embedding Ubuntu into Africa’s future.
